OBJECTIVES:
This workshop presents the concepts and practical applications of optimizing waterfloods using the Capacitance Resistance Model (CRM). Concepts are illustrated with field examples from the USA, North Sea, and Canada, with particular emphasis on the interpretation of CRM results. In-class exercises use Excel spreadsheet software.
BENEFITS: You will
understand what connectivity is and how it behaves
learn what the CRM does and how it works
apply the CRM using data provided
interpret the CRM results for engineering waterfloods
learn methods to compare and combine geology and CRM results
Course content includes:
• Connectivity definitions and behavior
• CRM fundamentals
• What do I need to use the CRM for my field?
• Interpreting CRM results and their uncertainties
• Applying the CRM to tight, conventional, and heavy oil field cases
• Using the CRM with tracers
